My Alcohol Recovery Journey

My Story Is One of Relentlessness, Perseverance, and Ultimately, Triumph

For nearly a decade, I battled alcohol addiction, and no matter how many times I sought help, I just couldn’t seem to get better.

I turned to prayer, mentors, support groups, therapists, counselors, doctors—everything I could think of.

Over and over again, I was told that the only way to get better was to abstain from alcohol entirely, relying solely on sheer willpower. But that approach never worked for me.

Time and time again, I relapsed, and the consequences were devastating. It felt like I was trapped in an endless cycle—trying, failing, and unable to break free.

Then One Day, Everything Changed

One day, I came across an alternative approach to alcohol recovery—something completely different from anything I had heard of before. It’s what I now refer to as a science-based approach, which included medication-assisted treatment.

At first, I thought it sounded too good to be true. But after doing more research, I realized I had nothing to lose, so I decided to give it a try.

However, before I could, I had to face several obstacles. I was turned down by multiple doctors. One told me I didn’t need medication, another thought I was trying to go through the "back door" for treatment, a third accused me of trying to be my own doctor and treat myself, and multiple others flat-out refused to prescribe the medication.

Eventually, I found a doctor who was willing to prescribe it—but they didn’t accept insurance, so I had to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket. At that point, I was determined to do whatever it took.

I finally had access to the medication, and for a time, it was incredibly effective. In just 2 to 3 months, I was able to enjoy alcohol in moderation like a "normal drinker"—something I never thought possible.

But Even with This Success, My Journey Wasn’t Straightforward

Eventually, I had to stop taking the medication I had initially used because, for reasons neither I nor any doctor can explain to this day, I began experiencing severe side effects that made it impossible to continue.

I found myself struggling with alcohol addiction again, and the worst part was feeling completely alone—scared, confused, and unsure of my next step. There was no one to support me, and no one had any answers.

But this struggle led to something positive—not just for me, but for others as well. I essentially became my first client. I dove deep into research, reexamined my approach, and began crafting a recovery plan tailored specifically to my needs. I collaborated with a new provider, explored alternative treatments, and created an individualized, science-backed approach that helped me regain control of my life.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had essentially created what would become the She's Recovered Method™—a comprehensive, science-based, compassionate, and individualized approach to alcohol recovery.

Now, I go years without thinking about alcohol, and if and when I want to, I can enjoy it like a “normal drinker.”

Recovery Is About Personalized Support, Tailored Approaches, and Science

It was during this struggle that I realized something crucial: recovery isn’t just about finding the right science-based approach—it’s about having personalized support that fits your unique needs.

I had found an effective treatment, but when it stopped working, I was left feeling lost, alone, and without guidance. I had no one to help me navigate the twists and turns of my recovery, no one to support me through the inevitable ups and downs.

It was a painful, isolating experience that I never wanted anyone else to go through.

In that moment of frustration, I had a realization: I needed to create what I had been searching for—a support system that not only understands the science of addiction but also tailors the approach to each person’s individual journey.

And that’s when the idea for the She's Recovered Method™ was born.

Creating the She’s Recovered Method™

The She’s Recovered Method™ is built on my personal journey and everything I’ve learned along the way. It’s a science-based, compassionate, and individualized approach to alcohol recovery, designed to help you take control of your own recovery path. But just as importantly, it’s a mentorship experience—because I never want anyone to feel as alone as I did.

I created She’s Recovered to be the support system that was missing for me—one that combines expert guidance with the flexibility to tailor your approach to fit your unique needs. Whether it’s medication, therapy, or lifestyle changes, you’ll have someone in your corner, helping you understand the science behind alcohol recovery, guiding you through each step, and offering compassion and understanding along the way.

Today, I don’t think about alcohol, and I’m no longer trapped by it. But what I’ve learned is that recovery is about much more than just finding a solution—it’s about having the right tools, the right plan, and, most importantly, the right support.

I’m here to guide you through every step of your recovery journey, and together, we’ll create a plan that works for you.
